Pediatric cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children. Help nonprofits, researchers and health systems battle children’s cancer by providing products for fundraisers. Think hats, tees and more.

Healthy Aging Month

Personal trainers, massage therapists, chiropractors, gyms, yoga studios and nutrition coaches can capitalize on this annual health observance, which promotes taking proactive steps to age healthily (www.healthyaging.net). Product ideas include sport bottles, exercise bands and pedometers.

National Assisted Living Week Sept. 11-17

This week, assisted living facilities host events that provide opportunities for people to share an enjoyable time with family members (www.nalw.org). Make the events fun for grandchildren by providing assisted living clients with kid-friendly giveaways, such as glowing bouncy balls.

National Line Dance Week Sept. 12-17

Bars and VFW halls can host special events tied to this week that celebrates line dancing. Connect clients with special signage for events in addition to cowboy-themed giveaways, such as paisley bandannas and bottle insulators shaped like cowboy boots.

National Tradesmen Day Sept. 16

Sponsored by Irwin Tools in conjunction with retailers and community groups, this day features recognition events and activities aimed at honoring and thanking the trade professionals that build America and keep it running (www.nationaltradesmenday.com). Partner with employers and have them give their hardworking crews thank-you gifts such as tactical knives, fishing bobbers and multi-tool items.

Oktoberfest Sept. 17-Oct. 2

The biggest beer festival in the world occurs in Munich, Germany, but local versions of the celebration are held across the globe, especially in the U.S. Find bars, breweries, German-American clubs and other entities that host Oktoberfest events. Then sell them event T-shirts, mugs, plastic steins, can coolers and dirndls/lederhosen (for servers).

International Coastal Clean-Up Sept. 17

Since 1985, nine million volunteers have collected 164 million pounds of trash from beaches – and below the water – in 152 locations throughout the world as part of this eco-minded initiative (www.oceanconservancy.org). Help organizers thank volunteers for their efforts with items like T-shirts, caps and sport bottles.

Tolkien Week Sept. 18-24

Theaters, libraries and bars can organize events around this week that celebrates English author J.R.R. Tolkien, whose main works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have earned a devout following. Theaters, for instance, can host screenings of the films that the books inspired, and give away fun fantasy-themed items like elf ears. Bars can host Tolkien nights, encouraging people to come dressed as their favorite characters.
